What do you think? My college counselor didn't suggest any less selective schools, so I'm not sure whether I actually need one, but does anyone have suggestions for another more-likely safety school?

I know, I think I’m just being paranoid. It’s just that my “safeties” are pretty selective schools, and I feel like even they aren’t a sure lock, you know? I don’t need a financial safety, though.

if you did kenyon, college of wooster could be a great safety for you. schools similar to bard yet a little less selective - hampshire, goucher. i also second conn college. i think you have a great list already.

It doesn’t look to me like you need more safeties unless you don’t really like the 3-4 schools you have that are slightly easier to get into. I assume that you specifically want small schools, but I wonder if you want to add in one larger school just for comparison like Dartmouth which has many similarities to Middlebury and Amherst. Nothing wrong with applying to 10 schools!

Hampshire could be a possibility; my dad went there, so I’m a legacy. I don’t love it, though. I’d consider Dartmouth, but I really don’t like the frat scene…I think the only schools on my lists with frats are Kenyon and Wesleyan, and those are pretty low-key. I’m pretty undecided in a major, but definitely humanities or social sciences – English is likely, or maybe I’ll really like psychology or something. I’ll check out Wooster, too. Thanks!
