Congratulations Prof. Nambu and University of Chicago for winning Nobel Prize in Physics this year. The Univeristy of Chicago, a home of pure academia.

I believe that now ties Chicago with Cambridge University at 82 for most individuals affiliated with a university who have won the prize.

It's a good day in Hyde Park =)

I saw a press conference going on in the Reynolds Club earlier today, but I saw it before my two cups of coffee, so I didn't really think that it was anything special, until I read the New York Times later in the day.

Looks like I was wrong, Chicago is still one behind Cambridge which claims 83 affiliates.

^^^^

That's because one of the guys who just won the Nobel prize in Chemistry received his PhD from Cambridge.

It seems as if my Japanese professor knows him. According to him, he lives on University between 55th and 56th, which is right across from Pierce. Pretty cool.

unalove- you should have swung by for the party- best free food around campus in years.

Is that to mean the food usually is not good, or that this was really good food?

I think the nobel prize shaped hearts of palm with truffle sauce on bed of wine infused rizotto were the main selling points.

Kidding. They likely had something marginally better than chips and dip.

I was at a GSB event though a few weeks ago and they really threw down.
