Another Rising Stern Sophomore willing to answer questions!

Seeing that registration has already happened and many classes are closed, I know not too many changes to my schedule can be made. But I wanted to know your opinion on its tentative status:

Global Asia with Professor Ludden to fulfill Cultures and Contexts
Language with Professor Gillian Gallagher to fulfill elective credit (this might change if my AP Calc score fulfills my prereq for Micro - I will find out in July)
Calculus 1 with Professor Kiryl Tsishchanka
Commerce and Culture with Professor Robert Blount-Lyon

I didn’t take Global Asia but from what I have heard, it is not difficult but not too easy either, basically an OK class to fulfill the C&C requirement. The majority of the students are asian.

Not know language,sorry

Personally, I took Calc 1 with Matthew Leingang, he was very smart and clearly very into calculus and math. However, he talked pretty fast and went over topics briskly. I still enjoyed his class though. As for Tsishchanka, many of my friends took Calc 1 with this professor. As far as I know, all response were positive.

I took WTE, so not sure on Commerce and Culture, Sorry.

Hope it helps!

which WTE teachers do you recommend/did you hear bad things about?

jetblk, have you heard anything about Robert Diyanni’s WTE classes? I enrolled in one of his sections for WTE after reading great reviews about him on ratemyprofessors, but it was only after I enrolled when I realized all the reviews were of his cultural foundations classes.

@helpmepleaseeeeee go for nicole Callihan if she is still available. Made WTE bearable at 8am.

@justspice…Haven’t heard of him or his classes. However, If I am not mistaken, he is one of the authors of the WTE textbook. Interpret that whichever way you would like…

To be honest guys, I think most WTE professors are pretty similar. None of my friends were shouting about how they loved WTE and their professor. I think most grade the same way and require the same assignments to be completed. Whether or not the professor is entertaining or approachable is a whole different story. The required class material is challenging so the slight plusses one professor may have over the other is negligible IMO.Just pick the class at the right time(not 8AM trust me) and work hard on the essays!!!

WTE is a difficult course for sure, but you will find that your writing has been considerably improved. This, however, may actually be detrimental as you must take Business and Its Publics, a business writing course, which expects writing thats just about opposite of what’s expected in WTE.
