another stupid question on placement exams

How annoyed does anyone think the math department would get if I sent in the placement exams a little bit late?

There is a mailing deadline of the 4th, so I figured I could email a pdf on Monday without causing any problems, since anything sent by that physical mailing deadline could arrive any time next week, or even the week after. The cover letter even impies that its fine to send the diagnostic exams (due ages ago) along with the placement tests, so it would seem these deadlines are not particularly stringent.

Before I get flamed for abusing the flexiblity of deadlines and making more work for people I'd like to add I only just two days ago decided to take these exams (I did 1b yesterday, wich turned out to be surprisingly easy, but I'd like some extra time for 1a and 1c, and god I hope I didn't make any arithemetic errors in my row reductions...)

deadlines in general aren’t very strict here,
but i guess they might be annoyed

I wouldn’t be so sure that they aren’t too strict about placement test deadlines…as I recall, a frosh this year didn’t know that there were placement exams for CS1 and CS2 until after the deadline had passed, asked the people who run it if he could go ahead and take it and submit late, and was told that he could not.

Maybe contact the peoples in advance to ensure that they’re okay with stragglers on this one?
