"College Board's Official Study Guide" IS the blue book.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1411668480/ref=olp_product_details/104-4134762-3289554?%5Fencoding=UTF8&v=glance&n=283155

is what i meant.

bump......

I haven't used it personally, but just FYI: you can also get blue book answers for $10 from beatthesatin24hours.com, which is run by the people from studyhall.com (the site that has free answers to the old 10 Real SAT's books)

I have seen the "New SAT Solutions Manual", and think it is better than nothing, but it falls short of desirable. The people who wrote the book have a website which has a few sample explanations, so you may want to look at that. I know nothing of prepmasters, I have seen their LSAT stuff, but nothing on the SAT.

At our next meeting I will propose that we review these two books, and when the review is complete, I will post a link.

I've been wondering the same thing...

has anyone here actually tried the beatthesatin24hours.com thing?

I just purchased it for a student of mine...the solutions are short and I have a feeling they will not be very helpful for her.

The solutions are very similar to the www.studyhall.com solutions.

I am curious if the other books are valuable - if not, I am thinking about writing my own solutions up - they would be free for all if that is the case.

Let me know if there is interest.

Yes, that would be lovely, ganish!

The Testmasters solution book has gotten good reviews on here, if I am remembering correctly. Search on it. There aren't so many comments on it that you'd have a hard time sifting thru the results.

I bought the New SAT Solutions Manual book at the link below, but I am pretty disappointed. There are many errors, and the explanations are confusing. Also many of the math diagrams are hand-drawn and somewhat messy. It is also like three times more expensive than other options.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1411668480/ref=olp_product_details/104-4134762-3289554?%5Fencoding=UTF8&v=glance&n=283155

How about this one:

http://www.amazon.com/Maximum-SAT-Peter-Edwards/dp/1411623851/sr=1-1/qid=1158611426/ref=pd_bbs_1/103-6594005-5156645?ie=UTF8&s=books

the other one people have been linking to costs like $35. kinda expensive for just an answer manual.

ganish that would be great!

why can't the stupid blue book just include explanations?

yes, ganish's idea would be wonderful! :D We could even have other members contribute also for their own way of solving certain problems.

I think CB is just being a sissy because they don't want to give away strategies.

schrizto, Maximum SAT isn't a solutions guide... It covers material and then assigns practice problems from the Official Study Guide that specifically targets the material you've just learned so you can see how the SAT tests that material.

BTW, the Second Edition of Maximum SAT is now available from lulu.com at http://www.lulu.com/content/395863 It will be available on Amazon in a few weeks. If anyone has any questions, they can PM me.

Pete

Personally, I think the CB is going to come out with their own solutions guide at some point...but the explanations won't necessarily be the best way to approach the problems.
