“Anthony D'Amato has dreams to spare. Along with the talent and drive to achieve several.

"Of course, I'd love to be a rock star," says this year's Star-Ledger Scholar for Warren County, a top senior at Blair Academy in Blairstown. "But it wouldn't be so bad to be a well-known writer about music. And composer." So says the writer for Upstage Magazine who has interviewed Bruce Springsteen and Gordon Lightfoot.

“He's a great athlete, in baseball and track. And he doesn't just contribute to causes, he organizes benefits for them. With his brother Nicholas -- a Star-Ledger Scholar chosen in 2001 who is now in graduate school at Duke University -- Anthony raised $5,000 to help build a school in Afghanistan. He also arranged a fundraising concert for victims of Hurricane Katrina.

“Anthony plays guitar, bass, piano and harmonica for his band, Tracks, and the French horn for the academy's orchestra.

He scored 1590 on the SAT I test, and scores of 730 or higher on SAT II exams in physics, math and history.

“Anthony will attend Princeton University, his brother's undergraduate alma mater.
