anxiety attacks!!

<p>i'm sorry, i know that chance threads must get annoying, but after some of my friends got their MIT decisions, i've been panicking all over again about harvard :S i'd really appreciate any feedback...</p>

<p>SAT: 2260 (CR - 770, M - 750, W - 740)
SAT II: Math 2 - 710, Chem - 720, US History - 770
GPA: 4.6 weighted, i don't know the unweighted..probably a 3.9 or something
Class rank: my school doesn't rank, but i know that i'm 2/100
APs:
-World History - 5
-US History - 5
-Lang - 5
-Chem - 4
-Bio - currently taking
-Spanish Lang - currently taking
-Physics B - currently taking
-Calc BC - currently taking
-European History - currently taking
-Lit - currently taking</p>

<p>Extracurriculars and Community Service:
-piano since 3rd grade
-Debate Team founder and president
-religious classes outside of school in 9th and 10th grade
-Varsity Volleyball in 11th and 12th grade
-MUN delegate to an international conference in 12th grade
-yearbook editor-in-chief
-habitat for humanity in 11th and 12th grade (including a week long service trip to the philippines)
-coordinator of community service projects (recycling, gardening, etc)</p>

<p>Essays:
-common app - fantastic, very outside-of-the-box
-supplemental - i'm not too sure, it was a risky essay because i talked about living in the middle east and how it's very stereotyped and also how my multicultural background has affected me
Teacher Recs: excellent
Counselor rec: really excellent
Interview: went really well, lasted almost an hour because we started discussing international politics lol</p>

<p>Other: i was born in asia, lived in the US for ten years, buttt i now live in the middle east..also, i'm a nmsqt finalist and have job experience as a piano teacher</p>

<p>To be honest, no one can tell. Just wait it out :)</p>

<p>look at all of the other chance threads and see if you notice anything similar…</p>

<p>there are SO many qualified people and they can only take a couple thousand. it’s really luck if anyone gets in. if someone gets rejected, that doesn’t always mean that they’re not qualified. clearly your stats are excellent…but you just can’t tell because there are so many applicants with amazing stats.</p>

<p>Don’t panic! At this point, all I can suggest is take a deep breath and find ways to distract yourself!</p>

<p>I REALLY wanted to go to Harvard. Didn’t get in. I’m at Davidson. I LOVE IT! I can’t even imagine being at any other school (even Harvard) and being this happy with college. Best decision I’ve ever made.</p>

<p>Remember, upwards of 85% of the Harvard applicants are considered “qualified.” You just have to hope you’re one of the lucky ones. But if you don’t get picked…don’t take it personally, because you probably deserved to go there…there’s just not space for everyone and you’re not less important or less intelligent than the students who are accepted.</p>
