I’m new on this site, but so far I’ve noticed that most of the forums are based on statistics and admissions so I don’t know if this is the right place to ask for help about this issue.
I don’t know if this could be seen as an anxiety issue, however I have a tendency of getting more nervous and freaked out before tests more than my peers no matter how prepared I am.
As soon as I get the test before me, I start seeing stars and feel like I’m about to throw up. I do study, and I do well on all of the practice exams I do at home, but I just can’t seem to control my anxiety level on the spot.
I have two ap exams this coming week, and this is the first time I’ve ever taking an ap exam. I’m absolutely petrified, yet I know that I am pretty prepared.
Does anyone have tips to cope with before test anxiety TT^TT?
Geez, that’s a hard question to answer. Honestly, AP exams are much more stricter than regular high school semester exams. You cannot receive accommodations unless you apply for them (and are approved), but that deadline has passed. This might sound cliche, but think happy thoughts and have confidence. Eat a light breakfast, make sure you’re prepared, don’t try to study the night before (its honestly too late at this point), and do something to calm you down before you go and take the test. Listen to your favorite music or get on your phone. Anything to distract yourself from zoning in on what bad “could happen” will help you a lot. Anxiety is a mental block. I suffer from it as well, mainly when I test. Confidence is key. It is all in your head and you have to be the person to say “I’m not going to let this stop or bother me.” Best of luck to you. You’ll do fine!
