same here for my Daughter "no determination has been made at this time...." UGH!

I'm really tired of reading that too...some change would be good...

yeah, like i really just want to know whether it be good or bad. not knowing is just terrible

My pomona status changed from "ready to review" to "referred to impacted plan", and I'm guessing that it will stay there for another two months, but at least it's a change. C'mon SLO, you can at least change it from "no determination has been made" to "mmmm.....maybe we'll take" that'll get me excited.

I'd take that...

You have not been selected for admission to Cal Poly. :(
ugh

You have not been selected for admission to Cal Poly.

What the hell?
4.0 Unweighted GPA.
200 plus hours community service.

I'm in shock.

^^^
Wow, that's just crazy.

^^that is crazy. 4.0 gpa

What was your SAT score, cjcreighton5?

It was a 2080.
710 CR
740 Math
630 Writing

Im a kinesiology major with a 3.67 gpa (transfer student) and i was waitlisted in february. today i sent admission an email telling them that cpslo is my number one choice and that id be honored to go haha. so i hope my sucking up pays off

Ha.

I called to see if there was a blatant reason as to why I was rejected and the admissions rep said "Oh, nobody actually looks at your application, it's all a computer." I said "Wow, your computer is missing out on some high-caliber students, and I wouldn't want to go to a school where the atudents clearly mean nothing." And then I hung up.

Bitter, yes, but I really did want to know why I had been rejected. But apparently there were 1250 applicants for Kinesiology, and 64 slots, so I feel marginally better.

are those numbers right? whats your source? if those are accurate then i am quite sad and worried all of a sudden :(

wow im shocked! these stats are great. i think, just like san diego state, most kids are applying to states are "backup" and they can only take so many and i guess in some way or another, there has to be a cutoff. the people i've talked to here, since there has been talks about increasing a fee, have said that this year they're not accepting as many students (assuming lower rates than last year)

kinesiology though is the most impacted major in the math & science department, so it is very hard to get into. as for liberal arts, psychology is the most impacted major.

this forum is really helpful. for those who have been accepted or waitlisted for kinesiology could you post your stats?

The 64 out of 1250 came right out of the mouth of the admissions rep.

My daughter appealed her decision, again rejected. I guess it is Cuesta for two years and then she will make another attempt. I am actually supporting her decision to go away to community college. Any suggestions that will help her get ready for round 2 in two years? Any Cuesta transfers have any suggestions?

She has been admitted to the other State Schools she applied to (did not attempt UC's high GPA 4.0+, but average SAT's) her heart is set on Cal Poly so here we go ........

^^how far do you live from san luis obispo?

ClickAnn- I have many friends that got to Cuesta and love it.. You generally live in Mustang Village (or something like that) which is right off of California Blvd, and is really close to the Football Stadium, the frats and most of the student housing.. I was in SLO last weekend and it is really one of the best places to live, extremely laid back, chill lifestyle, she will enjoy it.

P.S.- Cuesta has like over 15k students and almost all are within the ages of 18-24, and they tend to get along great with the Poly students.. You should see if there is some automatic transfer deal to go from Cuesta to CP.

Peace
