Any AP Cramming Miracle Stories?

I crammed like I never crammed before for AP US. I spend a good deal of time just reading over the giant review and also taking as many tests possible before finally taking it so everything was fresh in my mind and there. Got a 5 on this one last year.

Also AP Physics B was the same story almost except I basically read the book over and got a 4.

This year though, I doubt I can pull off the same stunt.

Obviously he took the course and learned the information. Take these stories with a grain of salt...of course it's impossible to take a course on subject you know nothing about and get a 5.

yea (to preface this i suck at history) but anyway i took ap euro for the challenege as a soph. last year. ... and i studied pretty hard.. and i only got a 3 so i mean..... i think ti's just luck/unluck

AP miracle in progress. Gonna cram some AP World before the exam and going to teach myself AP Macro in two days flat. Any wagers ;).

2 Days?

You are crazy.
AP Macro in 2 days????

if you do that, u should go for ap us hitsory for 3.

Hell, I've got some crazy friends...

One of them self-studied AP Macroecon for 3 days and got a 5. And he was taking about 6 other APs that year as well.

Another self-studied AP Bio for 2 weeks without taking the course. He too was taking something like 5~6 other APs that year. He read CliffsAP Bio through two or three times, I think. Yeah, this guy got a 5 as well.

So it is doable, as these cases prove, but you either need a lot of luck or you've gotta be a genius... or both.

Didn't really pay attention too much in AP Bio. Got a "2" on the mock AP exam that also counted as a final. Night before the real AP test, pulled out the Cliffs AP, studied the entire night (I did not sleep), read through the entire Cliffs AP book, and got a 5 on the exam. So basically, for Bio, if you read through the entire Cliffs book and remember what you read, I guarantee that you will get a 5.

Gonna be looking to do the same on the World History test as I did on the Bio test. Haven't really been going to class or taking notes, so I actually don't know any history. Hopefully, I can read through the entire Barron's Book and try to get at least a 4.

I don't know how I can cram for calc though. I think I might just resign myself to get a 1 and forget about it. World and Calc are on the same day, which is really terrible for the cramming bunch.

Have you been taking a Calc class?

Calc is gonna be a miracle. I decided to self study Calc BC last summer, w/ only AP stats and Alg 2 Trig under my belt. By christmas, guess what i learned? Thats right, stopped around the quotient rule! So basically, I have covered 2 years of material in about 4 months. Since I am a sophomre, and very few other kids are taking as sophomres at school, teachers have difficulty understanding, IT IS AP EXAM WEEK FOR GOD SAKE! OF COURSE I AM NOT GOING TO CONCENTRATE EXTREMELY HARD IN YOUR CLASS! JUST ONE WEEK DAMN IT!

grrr... Problem with AP Euro self-study is that whenever I open that book, I always go to the World War II section. Now I need a FRQ on WWII or I'm doomed. :P

I already have 6 absenses from a particular class and it's going up to 8 with APs and may go up to 9 with some trip with the UW - should I skip school tomorrow feigning illness? Haha umm a 5 on the AP is far more valuable than a grade that won't mean anything in the future

about 3 days ago, I realized, "holy crap aps start monday...holy crap I've got english lang, then calc bc, then world history, then statistics...holy crap, sat iis are on saturday and ap bio is on monday." major crammage today and tomorrow after the english exam. if it turns out insipirational, i'll post. otherwise i'll weep in a dark corner.

damn halo, god of distraction.

yah, im spending 1 day per test, and i never even took the class for it... so if i get anything above a 4 on chem, econ, or gov... then say "Thank you Lord"... i waived econ freshmen year so i didnt have to take it this year.. but my econ waiver was a "miracle" too i guess... i mean i just read the book and took the test :D all in less than a week

Oh crap...two AP exams in less than 8 hours and I am still cramming...

oh yah calc bc i can't do the simplest bc free reponse ;) holla

eh, this thread caught my eye because I'm cramming right now.

It's 6:02am Eastern time right now and I'll be taking the English exam today.

...Haven't studied anything, but will take the next hour to review terminology. I think I'll be happy with a 4.

AP Calc BC - I took BC as a sophomore and my teacher came down with a freak disease and we had a substitute for something like 3 months. So, we didn't learn the last 2 chapters of the book (I think they were polar equations and then the stuff that related to physics or w/e I don't totally remember), but anyway I didn't even do a complete practice test in the Princeton Review. We did do 6 practice tests in class from the D&S books (which were totally unlike the actual test questions), but that was the extent of my studying. I was very worried on test day, but found the MC to be easy. The FR was much more difficult as I had absolutely no idea what was going on with the questions about Taylor polynomials and the logistics curve. I wrote some nonsense for each of those questions and felt the test room feeling pretty crappy...

But come July, I got a 5/5! It was pretty exciting, and I realized one thing: NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER leave any part of a FR blank ... just put something and you could possibly get some points !!! :)

Good luck all on AP's/May SAT this year!

wow you guys, i dont feel so screwed anymore...i have to take it friday and i havent started studying lol and the sat 1 on sat.

I knew a guy who didn't do jack all year in the AP Calc AB class. Crammed from Thursday night and the weekend to Tuesday morning, pulled off a 3, VERY impressive considering he got Fs throughout the year...funny enough he's a math major now, wants to be a teacher!!!

bellereve... what do you mean study for the english ap??? its not bio or physics or HISTORY... the only exams u can really cram for is history, econ, science, or government... i mean... its crazy to try to cram for math or english or foreign language... i just go to sleep and hope that my english skills are good today... i mean.. WHAT is there to study? u get like 3-4 passages to read, answer some questions, then write 3 essays... its not like... asking you things you remember... its GIVING u all the information and telling u to process those information. its like the same as, no need to study for DBQs. i didnt study for english at ALL except read the newspaper this morning b4 the test to make sure i can read hahaha
