Any benefit to submiting SAT scores before the Application?

Is there any benefit to my D submitting her standardized scores before she sends in her applications? She is not applying early decision anywhere, but has several schools she definitely wants to apply to but will need some time to polish up her essays and get her recommendation letters together. Probably no rolling admittance schools. Her SAT SS is 2360, ACT 35. While we have until Jan. 1 to apply, she'll probably get most of her applications in by Nov. So, does anyone look at the scores before the rest of the application arrives, perhaps generating some interest from the school (maybe app fee waivers?), or do they just get filed away until the application is complete or until after Jan. 1?

We submitted D’s ACT scores before her application simply because it was one item we could easily check off the to-do list. From what I understand, either the college will create a folder for the applicant then and place the scores there; or the scores will remain in a placeholder until the application has been submitted. Neither D nor I expect an early look-see at her scores.

Hmmmm… your idea of generating interest on their part sounds interesting. Who knows? It certainly can’t hurt.
