slight reach to reach. My friend had a 2200 and a 4.2 but most importantly he could easily pay for college and he got straight up rejected. Mckenna's way to limited in openings and getting in is just ridiuclous

..............................

i was always though cmc was hard to get into O.o

Your SAT/ACTs are, relatively speaking, on the very low side. That said, everything else looks pretty great. Very well-rounded ECs, and yet they also share a common (and relevant!) thread. Lots of leadership, which CMC will love.

I'd say you could be a slight toss up due to scores, b/c they do seem vaguely out of line with the rest of the application (and it may not look good that you bombed science on the ACT, given the scientific weight of your application. That said, everyone I know--myself included--bombed science on the ACT), but both schools will review your application holistically.

Both applications (USC and CMC) are/were worth your time, but you're not a shoe-in for either, even though you're clearly a great applicant. It might come down to who happens to be reading your application and how that individual weights ECs against scores (note that CMC, in particular, is a school trying very hard to boost its rankings in every way, so scores are important), but in fairness, that's what it comes down to for a lot of people. So like I said...the applications are/were definitely worth your time, but don't make strong assumptions either way.

I'm assuming you've already applied, so there's no chance of raising test scores. Any SAT2s, other high AP scores? It's your only real weak point, and it may or may not be overridden by the strength of all else (published research could be a big attention grabber).

Best of luck, and congrats on all that you've already accomplished!

Hm... SAT is a little bit low... nice rank though... I don't know, I think it's very possible, esp. with the letters of rec oozing in praise :) . Best of Luck!I hope you get in!

thanks a lot everyone
