Any chance at very prestigious schools?

Hi! I wanted to know if you guys think I have any chances at all for the really good schools like Stanford, Yale, MIT, etc...

I got a 31 on the ACT
32 English
29 Math
30 Reading
31 Science
10 Writing

3.697 GPA unweighted 4.0 scale.
In 9th grade I founded the junior high school’s chess club, was captain for that year, and took first place in our final tournament. (I attempted to start one at the senior high but they rejected it for some reason)
I was a member of the senior high school’s F.I.R.S.T. Robotics club in 9th and 10th grade. For the 10th grade year I was our teams programming captain.
I am a member of my county's National Youth Rights Association.
I volunteered for the local library from 9th to 10th grade.
I volunteered for the Relay for Life American Cancer Society walk for the last 3 years.
I participated in a golf league in 9th and 10th grade.
First generation college student.

I wasn't really even considering those schools before because there's a really nice public school near me, but if I have a shot at those I might go for them. Just curious :P

Realistically you stats make ivies and top tier schools unrealistic. Your scores are high enough (though if I remember correctly for schools like Stanford the average is high enough), but your GPA is too low and your ECs are very weak. From my understanding you have no ECs your junior year (other then Relay for Life) and that will weaken your application. That being said I think you can get into some great schools, find schools that are slightly less competitive and you should be fine!

I was in the National Youth Rights Association junior year as well, but thanks. I know the GPA sucks for schools like that, I didn’t really used to care about my grades and got B’s consistently and only started trying hard junior year.

Do you have any hook?
If not, almost no chance at Stanford, MIT and Yale.
Sorry but honest opinion.

No, Your scores aren’t high enough; admitted unhooked students typically have a 33-34+ ACT.

Yeah no chance. Nothing is up to par: scores, grades, extra curricular are not very good. You can go to a good college, but you are not the quality of top shools.
