Any chance for an international student? Prepared to get lashed

I suppose the entrance standard for international students would be a little more lenient????

Chinese
Went to UK for secondary school since 9th grade

Math II 750
Physics 800

AS Level: Economics A
Maths A
(Further Maths also A but not shown)
Physics B
Government and Politics C (dropped in A2)
A2 Level prediction: all A

Rec: Economics beak: stella with several best-i've-seens
Maths beak:no idea but shouldn't be too bad
House master: excellent i suppose

EC(the xtremely weak part since there is not much formal to do in a new school):
Varsity Basketball Team 4 years lots of commitment but no yield
Soccer Team 9th 10th
Play loads of other sports informally
Watching films and TV series (shall i really write them????)
Target 2.0 1h/week for a term and got nothing

Solution to a maths question posted on "Mathematical Gazette"

Essay: wrote about my enthusiasm in economics and all the books i've read about economics. i'm not a good writer but i suppose it's sincere

Colleges applying to:
economics major:
Uchicago
UPenn
Harvard(no way)
MIT
Columbia
Stanford
Cornell

Finance major:
NYU Stern

do you want financial aid?

no, and I forgot an important EC:

worked around 200 hours in an NGO under United Nations in China during the holidays

I got an A in Chinese AS but a B in A2 Level

You should apply to some safeties..

Looks roughly similar to mine (<a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/436024-chance-me-ivies-plz.html%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/436024-chance-me-ivies-plz.html</a>) so I'm guessing reach for UPenn, UChicago and Cornell, and high reach for the others.

BTW, isn't it the case that colleges tend not to count Math I and Math II as separate subjects?

What can I do? The only humanity I do is economics. It's really gay I can't do that or Chinese for SAT II (intl students can't do their home language).

Isn't NYU easier than UPenn, Chicago and Cornell????

Stern is a tip-top business school, so while it may be easier, I would certainly not consider it a sure bet. I would apply to some matches/safeties. UMinn has a good (like number 10) economics program.

Thank you for your advice yaycs11, but my school is closed on holidays. All the school forms are sent. So I guess I'll do a gap year and apply next year....with a better SAT and experience

Well now, don't count yourself completely out. This is a random thing really, I can see you making one of the schools. Don't give up hope!

Question!!!!!

Where do I put my distinctions in the Uncommon Application of UChicago?????? It's reallly urgent!!!!
