there's really nothing anyone can tell you. You know that your test scores, gpa, etc. are good, and therefore you could get in. however, maybe you won't. no one knows. you should just wait and stop stressing about something no one here can accurately predict.

go with the 8 ball. that's an awesome idea. no offense to anyone, but posting ur stats and asking ppl wat ur chances of getting in, doesn't really do u any good.

does Cornell give likely letters? and if you send in a complete RD app by the end of november, any chances your app will get a bit of review, or will it be shelved till general reading begins in march? thanks

mimisugar - i think what goldfish is saying is that out of all the stanford ea applicants, 50% are flat out rejected, which is rare for such a prestigious school. most prestigious schools DEFER the majority ed and ea applicants that they don't accept, not reject them. therefore, stanford rejecting 50% (or more, i don't know) of their ea applicants is very harsh because out of the remaing 50%, many many more are simply deferred, leaving a very small percentage to be accepted. just though i'd say that, no real point i suppose.

Um...I personally don't, but they definitely exist, otherwise everyone from the ED pool who wasn't getting in would just be rejected. I know a girl who got guaranteed transfer after being deffered, but the people I'm talking about are just the applicants from my school and there were only three people who were deferred, so it's probably not reflective of the situation at large.
