i have a bit of an abnormal situation.

Im a sr. and i just didnt feel like going to college next year so im not-instead im going to spend the year travelling around the world and volunteering. i definetly intend to go to college the year after next. im thinking about going into finance or maybe international business or something like that. ill probably major in economics and id like to do a double major maybe with history or finance but im not sure. i want a genuine liberal arts education in an environment with small class sizes and good student-faculty interaction, although not necessarily small. id prefer an east coast/upper midwest/not so deep south location.

i definetly underachieved quite a bit in high school but here's my stats:

sats:2140 if i retook the test and prepared for it i could probably get like a 2300 or so.
classes about 2/3 honors/ap
gpa about 3.5 weighted/ i havent done like any hw for the past 4 years...
....seemed like a good idea at the time lol
ec's not great except for a couple overseas volunteer experiences

i don't have any of the token "overachiever" stats or activities but i think i could probably make up for some of that by doing some non-typical things like:

-recording a cd, playing all of the instruments on it and sending it in along with apps
-building an investment portfolio and sending them records
-talking to the adcoms 1 year in advance asking what they would like to see in an applicant and doing all those things

remember i have a whole year to do all this stuff so, any school suggestions?
