He also applied via Comon App and I don't recal a postcard-he got so much college mail that I may have lost sight of it :) I would suggest calling to confirm that your app. is complete if you have any concerns.

He also applied via Common App and I don't recal a postcard-he got so much college mail that I may have lost sight of it :) I would suggest calling to confirm that your app. is complete if you have any concerns. You could indicate that you head that someone else had gotten a postcard, but that you had not.

Thank you! I am going to call them tomorrow. I am wishing for the best.

Best of luck! As an admittedly biased alumna, I think Union is a wonderful place!

I don't think I am missing anything, but is Union a religious school. For the supplement, they wanted a writing example. I submitted my paper on stem cells and how it stirs a controversy. I was prostem cells because I want to go into the sciences. Do you think that will decrease my chances?

to the above poster, i dont think it should. BTW i sent in possibly one of the worst essays i have written... it was a last minute decision to apply and i forgot to send in an essay the first time, and then ended up sending in an essay i had to write in class and got an A on.. but it really had a good amount of spellling and grammar errors.. i mean i wrote it in like 45 min. but yeh, dont worry, they are just seeing how you think, your writing style, etc.
as long as you dont sound ignorant and you back up what you said, it wont be held against you at all. as for me, i was just admitted into their leadership in medicine program which was incredibly exciting... and btw they asked me about stem cell research while i was there, and the interviewer seemed to be pro-stem cell research.. so who knows. there is a greaaat chance that is where i will end up. i was wondering, for the poeple who are there or who have kids there, do they find that the cold weather affects them greatly, or is it really not as big of a deal as it is made out to be? are there any generalizations about the students there? and would anyone happen to know the religious life on campus... jewish life in particular?

3 Sons, thanks for the heads up on the thin envelope. I won't panic when I see it in the mailbox!

My S is awaiting RD, should be coming soon. Union is one of his top 3 choices.

We also only recieved 1 postcard from Union since applying, so it's good to hear that others were the same.

Time Master, Union makes a big deal of NOT being a religious school, they welcome all faiths and are very open-minded. It was founded by the town as non-sectarian. So you should be ok.

I was wondering are we suppose to get an interview?

You would have had to interview before the application deadline (unless you are a junior and haven't applied yet). Interview is not required at Union, though.

Thanks, but I already applied...

Time master:

Are you confusing Union University, in TN, (a religious school) with Union College, in NY?

I googled Union college and might have made a mistake. The one I applied to is in NY.

Ya I haven't received anything from them as of yet, besides for the postcard. Does anyone know when they send decisions out???? Thanks

They said it would be at the end of this month so we will get it by April 1st.
