I'm currently a Viterbi student. This fall, I want to skip Chem BL (I got credits from AP Chem) to take another class (business) to see if I really want to major in Chemical Engineering or business. What business class should I take to see if I actually like business instead of engineering?

Maybe take buad 304 which is leading organizations and buad 307 is a marketing class. Either one would be good.

Is BUAD 310 a good choice? Because I don’t think there is any more spot left for BUAD 304…:(

by the way, is BUAD 250 (Core Concept of ACcounting Information) a good choice? since it’s one of the requirements for the B.S degree of Business Administration…

Do you know what you’d want to concentrate in if you were to major in business (ie finance, marketing, entrepreneurship, etc)? Although it’s a general business degree, I’d choose something you’re INTERESTED in as all the classes vary a lot.

If you don’t care what class though, I truthfully would not recommend BUAD 304 or 310 to see “if you like it”. BUAD 304 isn’t very stimulating and is more of a memorization class. BUAD 310 is a statistics class. Both really aren’t THAT interesting or relevant for anything you’d concentrate in.

I would stick with most likely 250a (or whatever the new intro accounting class is numbered) or 307 (Marketing). Both will fulfill a required business class and be a little more interesting, though 250a (or the equivalent) will require more work than 307.

^I’d want to concentrate in Business Administration. I actually want to take BUAD 250a. This class also fits perfectly into my schedule, but I still don’t know if I should really register for this class. I haven’t received any professional advisement from anyone yet. I already sent Marshall admission office an email, but they haven’t replied yet…

call the marshall advising office…not admission. now that you’re a studnet you’re pretty much done with admissions

^Actually I already sent an email to one of the academic advisors of Marshall, but then I received an email saying that I should contact the admission office :(
