Hey,

Thanks to all thsoe who contributed to the other threads about classes and teachers. I've picked out 1-2 profs for each of my classes except a couple...

Any suggestions for: M119(brief survey of calc), W131(english), K201/204(comp in biz), H101(history in 20th century), and micro/macro?

English seems like a mixed bag and I haven't heard anything about M119, econ seems to be ok?, and nothing on history.

Anyways, any professor suggestions would be appreciated

Thanks

Nearly all those classes will be taught by grad students, so you're not really picking professors. When you sign up it will say "Staff", meaning later the grad students will pick their classes. That's how it is for W131, K201, H101, and Micro/Macro outside of Self and Olsen who will do the big lectures (MAKE SURE YOU AVOID THESE TWO AND TAKE MICRO/MACRO WITH GRAD STUDENTS). M119 has some professors, but they all grade harshly and overall it's a bad class.

Well, if you can get into K204 with Heltsley, that's the better choice than K201.

As far as M119, my son took this with Boggess and liked his class, but unfortunately slept through the midterm (therefore getting an F on this test) and had to drop the course. Because he likes Boggess, though, he has signed up to take the course with him again this coming Fall.

You need to know that there is a homework workbook that you can do and turn in both at the mid-point and then at the end of the class for a very small amount of extra credit. Doing the homework (which is addition to the online homework) helps you do well on the tests, though.

Also, I agree with A2Wolves6 that usually grad students will teach the econ and english courses, but this is not true for the history course listed above (H101), which is usually taught by the professor, Guardino. (My son took that one, too)
