Any "Guys" majoring in a Liberal Arts Degree? Is it less Manly?

Hey so Im a guy,
Who is majoring in a Liberal Arts Degree like Sociology/ethics. Any other "guys" in the same boat? Is it less manly since most guys go into trade school or engineering, business, medicine?

No, nobody I’ve ever met thinks the weirdos in the engineering department are more
Manly then the social science guys who actually have time for women and fun.

It’s not less manly in my opinion. But if you’re insecure about it, you’re better off not doing it.

“Guys”

Why?

What a primitive concern…the short answer is no.

I think medicine is for girls or softie guys

relevant question.

sociology is an easier path to law school in my opinion, or an easier non-trad option to med school. i am noticing a lot of people are getting the picture about med school and go alternative undergrad routes. i am reading a lot a lot about people changing their bio/phys/chem route to more liberal/social science majors as its less rigorous and, less crucial on the GPA in case of poor performance.

Uh, my best friend is a Sociology major. He pretty much picked the major because he knew it would be easy to maintain a good GPA in college, which is helpful to him considering a bachelor’s degree is how far he wanted to take his education. Seems to have worked out seeing as he’ll be a pilot in the Air Force after he graduates this year.

I was thinking about majoring in something that fell under Liberal Arts when I was a junior in high school. I always found English classes easy A’s and math classes hard. I’m a math major. I didn’t pick it because I had a talent in it, I chose it because it was interesting and challenging. A 4.0 as an English major would’ve meant zero to me, even if I did end up at an Ivy League university. I’d rather be where I am now, working hard and honing my skills. I’m also doing pre-pharmacy.

But no, either choice I would’ve made has no play in how “manly” it would’ve been. Just do what you like but never do it because it’s easy unless you have a terminal goal like my friend.

I don’t think it’s less manly than any other degree, would you look at a woman as being less feminine and more manly if she pursued engineering? That’s just speculating, theres no real evidence to support it!

@Caldud That’s really awesome you’re pursuing math even though you know it’s not your speciality, most people do what they’re best at because it’s easiest. I’m so horrible at math it’s not even funny, I’m taking elementary algebra this semester I know it’s such a juvenile course but I’m so nervous!

Hahaha!! ^^^

The manliest thing to do is to study whatever the heck you want to and not worry about whether it somehow makes you less of a man. Your choice of major basically has no reflection on your gender. Who cares if you’re “manly” anyway? Honestly, what a weird question.

Well, math is a liberal arts major…

I did math/econ

I don’t think I’m any less manly for my liberal arts degree.
