I have been rejected from NYU, deferred from Binghamton. But I have been accepted to Stony Brook, Albany, and Hofstra (if this is any consolation)

I have read that the mid 50% ACT range for CGS at BU is about 23-27.

My ACT is a 28
and I have an 87.5 unweighted GPA

I think you have a definite chance. Good luck!

Sorry if I'm being rude, but I'm assuming you're a Long Islander? I am too...and can I just recommend that if BU and Bing don't work out, you opt for Stony Brook or Albany. In other words, any school but Hofstra. Hofstra is known as "a community college for people who can't admit they go to community college." And who wants to spend $40,000/yr for an education they can get elsewhere for 1/4 of the price? Sorry if that was rude, I'm just repeating the general tone towards Hofstra that I've heard.

Haha yeah Hofstra cannot be too great of a school. During my time in the admissions game I received personalized emails every single day for an extended period of time practically begging me to go there. I hadn't even ever considered Hofstra let alone applied which is why they always seemed a little too desperate to me..

insanity90, you are not being rude at all. I am a Long Islander and I know all about Hofstra. I will definitly go to Stony Brook or Albany if Binhamton or BU doesn't work out.

haha i know way more people that turned down nyu for bu or that got into bu and not nyu. i didnt even have any interest in applying to nyu. from what ive heard, the professors are not the best, and the administration really doesnt care about you. everyone i know at nyu loves the city but hates the school. guess everyone hears different things from different people.
