Any ideas for tutoring a friend?

I am a good student that got a 2110 SAT/32 ACT. I am going to tutor a friend for $10 per hour and I was wondering if anyone had any idea on how to make each study session really count?

In addition, what would be an appropriate amount of hours for each study session?

He is retaking the SAT in October. He scored 510 V, 550 M, 440 W (1500) in June. He wants to get into UF with very few EC's and a very light course load. I believe he needs a 2000+ score but I could be mistaken (He is instate).

No ideas? Come on...

Hmm, I have actually been interested in tutoring as well. I'd go over the basic strategies for each section that you've probably already learned. After he seems to know the design of the test, move on to more specific topics. To assure he is making progress, assign diagnostics that he would be able to do himself and take note of where he's having the most difficulty.
