Any International Student's Actually Received Aid

Provided the Georgetown offer is a need-based offer based on the fact that they consider you a permanent citizen, I would call the office.

okay, if they haven’t replied by the time i get back from school tomorrow ill call. thanks! ill let you know if it works. fingers crossedd…

it is very difficult to change the minds of the administrators once they make a decision about the residency as it is a policy decision based on the availability of legal documents.

do you have green card to show/prove your residency?

to be on the safe side, make sure you accept at least one offer from the remaining schools to ensure you have something for fall

no i don’t thats the problem. this is the link for the thread i started. all the details are there.

and i accepted Georgetowns offer.

@ cayuga, what do you mean by Cornell’s historical ties with Canada?
I’m Canadian and plan to apply in the fall and need financial aid for sure… is the chance very slim?

Just that. Cornell has a lot of historical ties with Canada. Moreso than most other American schools. For fun, google Ned Harkness, Goldwin Smith, Ken Dryden, Melody Davidson, or Stephen Jarislowsky.

Not slim. Just less than it would have been a couple years ago. Cornell’s financial aid for internationals is still quite good in the grand scheme of things.

^^
It’s actually slim to none. But you do get a $65 t-shirt. :-)
