Any Opinions on These Schools and Pre Law

They're all kinda small, but, I got in to Ursinus, Lake Forest(outside chicago), Loyola Chicago, and Im waiting to hear back from Furman(tomorrow), Hillsdale, and Hampshire. As far as overall education, pre law, people, connections, etc. what are your thoughts on any of these, assuming I hopefully can get into the other three.

There is really no such thing as “pre law”. You can major in anything and then go to law school, and almost any major has some advantages down the road. You have some excellent schools on your list, so I would make the decision based on something other than future law school. Any will serve you well in that respect. I find Ursinus and Lake Forest to have an EXTREMELY small feel and have known students who left after the first year because of this.

like the person before me said, most people just major in something first then actually try to test into law school, thats what i’m trying to do, majoring in english

What the people above said about the majoring aspect. Classics and Philosophy majors have high rates of acceptance to law schools compared to other majors.

Thanks for the input! Im thinking about majoring in Philosophy and Econ. But I was wondering less about a pre-law major, and more about how the schools will prepare you to get accepted law school and for attending law school, and also just the overall opinion of the schools. Thanks!

The main factors in law school acceptance are GPA and score on the LSAT. Pick a school where you believe you will be engaged and will thrive so that you will work hard and have a strong GPA. There is really no such thing as “being prepared to get accepted into law school.” To succeed in law school you need strong reading and writing skills. Many music majors wind up going to law school and do very well.

Bump bump bump… Anyone else have opinions on these schools, not necessarily pertaining to pre-law?
