Any other freshman here, or am i by myself?

Is it just me or or there some other freshman here as well? If so post on what you think of cc.

Theres got to be more freshman here than me, if your out there post.

sophomore.

Oh ok, where are you from if you don't mind me asking, I'm on LI in NY.

Upstate new york, around Albany. I would totally trade with you for LI, hahah.

lol, atleast your houses have a little distance between them, and everyone on your block is moving, I believe there's 8+ houses within 3blocks of mine that are for sale. But, it's alright i guess, and we're closer to the water and the beach, I can't wait for summer.

Bump.......

Dang. When I was a freshman I barely knew Harvard existed. It was first after I saw the movie How High that I got interested. Anyways just make sure you have ECs that are somewhat focused around an area, be it law, economics, medicine, research, athletics, foot massage. You'll be fine as long as your ECs, personality and future goals are coherent. Just don't pick something for the sole purpose of filling the EC list or to make you "well-rounded". Visualize where and what position that you want to be in 3,5,7 years after college and start building up the passion and endeavor that your goal demands, right now.

FYI: I'm an international junior applying for the class of 2011, this fall.

Which country?

The Ace is Back - Was that question for me?

Yep, out of interest

Hey I'm a freshman too. I dont come to the boards too often but I look in from time to time.

At least it isn't just me, I mean i felt/thought I was by myself here. How good was the movie How High, worth seeing or not? And, by the way, I want to be a lawyer for firm in NYC.

How the hell can you know? You're what 15? 16? And you already know what you wanna do AND where? That's crazy. Be yourself, let yourself mature and develop - don't fix yourself at some ridiculous, uninformed idea you had when you were a kid.

I don't know how sensible Corporatefinance's advice is. It sounds like complete crap to me, and I don't see how it's accountable - he hasn't even applied, let alone got in!

Idk how I can know for sure, but I'm preddy sure. The purpose of this thread was to see if there were any other freshman on cc. Plus, I'm 14, I skipped in first grade.

Skipped meaning skipping a grade, not skipping literally, lol

It's actually pretty sick that a 14 year old is already structuring his life to get into Harvard. When I was 14 I was barely aware unis existed! Have fun, do what you want to do and do it well. That's all you can plan at this point. Anyone who tells you to plan now where you want to be when you'll be in your late twenties is crazy.

Just to let you know, UKRUS, there have been multiple 8th graders on this site. Plus, I am in no way sick, just because I know where I want to go, and what I want to do. Finally, I'm in no way at all structuring my life around how to get into a college, I only wanted to see everyones opinions, and if you have nothing to add please don't bother replying.

I'm a freshman who is nervous about taking Pre-IB courses. Is IB really that hard, and time consuming as they say, what are the keys to success and is the english courses that hard??? ;~<

UKRUS: The kid wants some advice and the best I could give him was the one I mentioned. It's not about shaping yourself for Harvard but getting Harvard to understand your charachter. Having said this, I think one would could make it a lot more easier to convey his charachter through expressing a sincere set of work including course loads, ECs that show where this guys stands and what direction he's heading. The benefits this approach gives are many more than the negatives as I see it. I'm not saying this is "the formula" or something, it's just my 2 cents of advice. You got any better?
