Any possibility of getting in?

Hi guys and gals!
I visited Cal Poly San Luis Obispo over the summer and I completely fell in love with it. I love the schools “learn by doing” mindset and I feel like I would do really well there. The problem is, I have a terrible CSU GPA 3.4 with a downwards trend. From what I’ve read, SLO basically takes your gpa and test scores and makes their decision based on those metrics. I think I can get a pretty good sat score maybe 1500 ish? (on the new one) I’m interested in engineering and business. Would there be any chance of being accepted?
Anything else I can do to improve my chances? Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Spencer

Cal Poly SLO uses 9-11th grades in their GPA calculation and you get up to 8 semesters of extra honors points for UC approved Honors/AP/IB or DE courses taken 10-11th so is your 3.4 GPA your SLO GPA?

Until you have an SAT score, it is difficult to chance you. SLO also uses an MCA point system to rank applicants. If you did visit, was the MCA point criteria explained?

Here are the average stats for each college so you can compare:

Both Business and Engineering are very competitive schools and majors. All you can do is apply and hope for the best.
