I know there are alot of intramurals and extramural sports at WP, but what about other clubs? Any groups that enjoy fishing or hunting? Video gaming? Any fraternities? I can live without those, but I was wondering if they had those kinds of groups like other colleges do.

Oh, and what about Politics? Are most cadets a bit more conservative than their civilian counter-parts? I enjoy debating and discussing politics, is it permissible to rally in support of or against a presidential candidate?

inhibitor-
The corps is overwhelmingly conservative (we have discussed this in my American Politics class). As a cadet if there is a club you want start it. I am in Infantry Tactics Club, but we have badminton club, language clubs, glee club etc. ect. I got put with a sponsor who hunts. It is possible to hunt and fish while at West Point. Through careful recon I have found that the lakes around Camp Buckner are especially lucrative for fishing.
For company athletics in the fall there is:
Soccer
Ultimate Frisbee
Biathlon
Full contact Football
Wrestling
So lots of choices.

FYI - Here is a link to the page that lists all the current clubs at West Point:

Someone who is or was active duty can probably explain this a little better but I don't think as an officer in the military you are allowed to be "active" in politics. Vote yes. Actively Campaign - probably not.
You work for the Commander-in-Chief, whomever that may be and what ever political party that may be represented.
It may surprise you but there are also quite a few liberals who serve in the military too. They are just as patriotic as you are.

May want to check this out:

There are a number of libertarians as well, who bear no resemblence to either of todays top two political party's :)

The line between politics and the military should never be crossed, beyond one's own personal convictions and exercising the right to vote. Its what REALLY keeps our nation safe.

Great link, justamomof4!
