I am also taking English Honors, taking Spanish V and economics. I'll also be doing senior seminar next seminar where I'll intern somewhere; I hope to intern at a bank or someplace I can learn about business.

I've been playing soccer for my HS 4 years, am in the national honor society, I'm the secretary of the Science Honor Society, treasurer of the soccer club and I'm a delegate for the Student Organization. I'm also a member of the Spanish Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta (Math Honor Society). I am the sales manager of the Event Staff of our school plays and am responsible for calculating profits, expenses and such.

I've been working as a lifeguard since last November and was recently promoted to Pool Manager.

I've been an altar boy since 1998. I now am the leader of the altar servers and serve as their mentor; I teach all new servers how to serve. I also am an assistant teacher for religious education for 1.5 hours a week.

Tell me what my chances are like and feel free to be blunt about it. I guess I would be applying to Stern, but I know that's extremely competitive.

Thanks a lot.

hey! it's worth a try to apply! you never know what could happen. just, RD is reaaaallly hard to get accepted into. but you also don't know what they always want. just write a great essay and nail the short answer questions. be sure to really express yourself in them and take risks. they'll see the real you, and you might be just who they're looking for!

I would also suggest retaking your US History SAT II and retaking the SAT to get at least above a 1400 (Stern's average is 1440)

i would emphasize your religious extracurriculars since i think thats the most unique thing about you. maybe if you could tie in your spiritual side with your business interests (like talk about how you want to be a successful but ethical businessman and how your ECs led you to that conclusion) than that could be an interesting essay.

that's a good idea! thanks a lot guys.
