So I was looking at Penn's application today and they ask for page 217 of your 300 page autobiography with optional. I totally LOL'ed. Do you think this is a serious essay?

This is from their site:
The optional essay in the Penn Application Supplement, asking you to submit page 217 of your autobiography, is truly optional. We even put "Truly" next to where it says "Optional." Yet, people keep asking us if it really is optional. It is. Truly.

I found this absolutely hilarious and truly think that the Penn Admissions Office has a devious sense of humor. So what are your thoughts about this essay.

DO IT!!! lol no if and buts. Unless ofcourse you rather not get accepted, but then why apply in the first place. Well, ok maybe not submitting this essay will not mean the end for your application but it could certainly help. Plus most people are going to submit this essay anyway. And yess, it is a seroius essay.

tons of people got in without writing the essay, but tons of people got in because their essay gave them that boost they needed, too. do as you see fit.
