I have been reading the Lehigh forum for awhile and rarely see any mention of transfers. Are there any other transfer applicants out there?

A couple months ago an admissions person told me in an email that this year transfer decisions should start the first week of April. Anyone have any other news about that? The status check site says May but I'm hoping that's just leftover from last year.

I applied to 6 schools and I've been accepted at 4 so far. Haven't heard from Lehigh and one other(of course these 2 are my top choices). Anyway, I just thought it'd be nice to see if anyone else was in the same boat waiting for transfer decisions.

transferstudent2, what was life like as a transfer student? Did you find it difficult to make friends and integrate into campus life? How did your housing situation turn out?

I definitely recommend attending the orientation events they hold. I initially met a lot of people through that then we’d go to parties together and meet other people. Overall I’d say it’s pretty easy to assimilate into the campus. For housing, I got put into one of the apartment style buildings (sayre, trembley, campus square) which was pretty nice. In hindsight though I think one of the dorm options (taylor or drinker) would’ve been better for meeting people. I also went Greek which is a ton of fun.

Thanks for the info! Which college are you in–engineering, arts and sciences, or business? Also, what makes you recommend the other dorms–are those freshman dorms or sophomore dorms? Are they more social? How is life different at those dorms versus the apartment-style dorm you lived in?

I’m business. The two dorms I mentioned are both sophomore; I’m kind of just speculating but I think I probably would’ve met more people initially in a dorm environment than in the apartments. In the apartment-style housing you’re more isolated as opposed to a dorm where you have more opportunities to connect with people in your hall.

Regardless though, wherever you end up you’ll be fine. People here are really nice and welcoming for the most part.

Yeah, I just got a particularly bad FA package from another school. It wasn’t one of my top choices but lehigh is. Lehigh seems to have a better reputation in that regard.

It should come with the letter they should have mailed today. The Admissions office told me they should come together as long as all the required paperwork had been submitted.
