I'm an international student from Kazakhstan, and I'm looking for an institution, where I can get some scholarships or Financial aid that covers tuition fees. I'm male, white, in my senior year of my school. btw, I'm planning to enroll for the fall 2012, this year I'll study somewhere or take a gap year. Here are my stats:

[li] SAT => taking in this May
[/li]

[li] SAT 2 => 600 Mathematics Level 2, 690 Physics (not good, I know)
[/li]

[li] IELTS => 7 (took in december) (taking again in may)
[/li]

[li] GPA => 4.0 out of 4.0
[/li]

[li] Rank => Top 5%
[/li]

[li] In our city, no school offer any IBs or APs.
[/li]

I have half a year to repeat my SATs, I'll do many extracurriculars...

ou, also one question, If I go to the first year of a University, may I get admitted to american University again as a freshman? or did I get the wrong info?

please, suggest some universities, other countries than USA would be also OK, I'll consider them also....
thanx in advance =)

*

If you do that, you won’t be considered an incoming frosh, and therefore that will seriously hurt your chances for aid/merit scholarships.

You will need high stats to best your chances at any financial help.

Do not start studies at a university if you want to be considered as a freshman applicant in the US.

Unless you are extremely talented, it will be extremely tought to get a full ride anywhere… You should look into some of the LACs with large endowments and lots of international students (F&M for example)

Star…

how much will your parents pay? Free tuition is only a part of costs…there are also room, board, books, travel, and personal expenses that need to be covered.

Typically, int’ls whose families can’t pay much aren’t able to come to the US to study.

I wonder if there are any stats out there of how many int’ls actually got “full rides” covering ALL costs where there families didn’t have to pay much. I imagine that the numbers are very small.

thanks for your response!!! people I really appreciate it!!
mom2collegekids, for other expences I have a sponsor here in my country, thanks you!!
I emailed one university, they told me that it’s okay if I’m studying in a University, I can be considered as a freshman, they even said that those credits doesnt count, and so on… (As if I wanted that =D)
