anybody not get an ap score yet

Quite a few people from my school are planning on a class action suit against ETS or College Board or maybe even both. From what you wrote, it sounds like you go to my school, but probably not. I actually talked to my college (CofC) and they are accepting the partial score, which is wonderful. I got a 5 on Calc AB :-D. I got a letter last Friday stating my school's options. 1) Take the partial score. 2) Retake the multiple choice. 3) Cancel the test grade all together. Skatearabia- If you havent gotten an option letter from College Board or a letter from your school, you should think about calling College Board. Call the AP Services line and press 0 for an operator. Good luck with your situation though.

got it today, they said they just merged the scores.

Everyone student who participated in an AP Exam this year has become extremely disappointed with College Board and ETS in the past few weeks. We only had around 30 people testing this year, but the majority of these students took multiple tests. Once the testing was completed, the tests were boxed up and mailed to ETS according to the rules on how to do so. They were signed for in New Jersey (where they were headed) but after that the paper trial ends. ETS lost over 70 tests completed by myself and my peers. We were informed that we could either retest or recieve a refund, however we didn't feel that was enough. We have fought to receive more compensation for our lost efforts and ETS is now administering free retest options for every student as well as a complete refund. They are also contacting our respective universities to inform them of our situation. They have searched for about 9 days for our tests, but it seems useless. They say that they were sent to another state to be graded, but they do not know where they were sent. All they know is that they were never returned. We were all sick to hear of the situation. And despite our anger over the lost scores, we are also concerned with our information floating around in Never-Never-Land. Our names, addresses, phone numbers, and SSNs are open to whomever has our tests and answer sheets. I have never been more disappointed. The refund is a poor substitute for our missing tests and even if I retest I admit that I have not spent much of my summer thought on my AP lessons, so a retest would be a joke.

Cpenguin -When did they offer to retake? all the way in may??????

i feeel the evil of the college board.

we can take them next week.... they were overnighted to our asst. superintendent last night. idk... i figure ill take it anyway if its gonna be completely free. what do i have to lose now?

College Board actually did not specify a time when we could all re-take the test if we went with that option. I would assume sometime soon. Although, there really isn't a convientent time for a re-test for the graduates. Students are leaving for college in about a week. My school has students going to MIT, Stanford, and Princeton. I doubt my school (knowing how badly organized it is) would be able to coordinate something quickly enough to have the test ready in a week. With the time it takes for shipping and grading, there is no way that a grade could be ready in time for any of the seniors.

It sounds like to me that ETS has lost more tests this year than would be understandably normal. I can see with all the test that they receive, that a couple would be lost. This, however, is ridiculous. I completely agree with JoieMichelle. Not only has ETS lost of scores, but they have lost valuable personal information. It's rather absurd.

Has anyone out that reported lost scores gotten theirs yet? I hope so.

Thanks for the advice. I called College Board, and, al-hamdu lillah, they had my "lost" score. The woman on the other end of the phone couldn't really tell me why I hadn't been able to get it earlier, so I don't know if it was actually lost or just lost in the mail, so to speak. The grades-by-phone service still reports them as unavailable, so I assume that's a technical problem on their end.

Good luck to everybody...it's a terrible situation.

Hey I just got my AP Eng Lit score after a month of waiting... so there's hope for you guys. However, I can tell you I was not pleased to wait that long to be told that I got a 3.

I called them on Thursday and they said they were still grading my test. o_o

I was told that they were still grading my test and it would take three more weeks. I called back three weeks later and they kept telling me three more weeks. Finally, I asked to speak to a supervisor, and they said it had been lost, so becareful with the "we are still grading your test" response.

i was wondering for those of you who had tests lost how you found out what score the collegeboard was going to give you...and what they said they were basing it on

To answer your question, CB had our free-repsonse. Only the multiple choice were lost. They had a system based on the tests from this year that could predict what our scores would have been. We arn't sure how close they actually came though. The one partial score I did get back, which was Calc AB, was a 5 (yay!) which I expected. Others, however, were extremely surprised by their grades. I'm not too sure how accurate the partial scores are.

Hmmm, well my friend is still waiting for her Spanish Lang. score, really unfortunate but oh well, maybe they'll get back to her soon, hopefully....

I should have posted this in the last one.

College Board fessed up to losing the scores. They had sent confirmation twice to the school saying they had received all the tests. On Friday though, my school called CB to ask if a representative would come to talk to us about the situation. CB requested that my school look one more time for the tests on campus. Low and behold, several staff members find the test in a room called "the pit." It is a room where the AP tests are secured until they are sent out. The missing tests were found on a chair; however, no one that deals with the AP tests remembers placing them on that chair, which means someone else moved them. But, if they were in that room with the other tests.. why didn't they go out with the them?

Another thing I do not understand is why did College Board say they had all the tests when they didn't and why did they then say they had been the ones who lost the tests. The entire situation is extremely confusing and screwed up.

CB says they will grade the tests (which they received on Tuesday) as fast as humanly possible and get the grades back to us (and our colleges) soon. I, however, think that CB is going to end up questioning the grades since during this 3 month period that the tests were lost, the tests were not secure.

Let me know what you all think about the whole situation.

If it gets too late, maybe you should try calling collegeboard. My friend didn't get her scores back one year and her mom ended up calling and the collegeboard people said that they couldn't mail it because she wrote her address in too lightly... Perhaps the same happened to you?

Hope you eventually get your scores!

hey i just got a letter today saying that the free-response sections for both my european history and english lit. exams were lost. im not going to take the test again, i leave for college tomorrow so i have no time to take or prepare for the tests... im pretty angry and was wondering how serious this class action suit is. id be willing to join in anything to bring collegeboard down lol.

oh and heres an article about the lost tests: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/08/17/AR2006081701355.html

That last paragraph in that article is about my school.

I think the reason CB said they lost the tests was because they assumed that your school sent them and they could not find them. I doubt with millions of boxes they can confirm every single one of them. I think it was irresponsible on your schools part to blame the CB before even checking the room where materials to be sent should go. Sounds like your school isn't on top of things either.

No, they arn't. And you're right, they shouldn't have blamed CB before even checking. My school cannot follow through on anything.

I finally got my grade back! Yay! I got a 5 on Calc AB.
