Anyone accepted to MIT??

Can you guys tell me your leadship roles??
like captain of the volleyball team.
People say that I NEED to have at least a few to get into mit.
But i don't have any.
and they say that everyone plays the piano-my lifelong passion
so is that true???
I won't stand out as an applicant?!!!
That's my main extracurricular!:/

Please help:D

No, not everyone plays piano, but it’s certainly not the most unusual extracurriular. You don’t need leadership roles, but they can add to an application like anything else can.

My leadership role was senior representative to a community service. That wasn’t nearly as interesting as my other activities.

You can look at the decisions thread for CC members last year (stickied at the top of this board) to see what kinds of profiles real MIT applicants have. A wide variety of people are accepted to MIT each year – there are no hard-and-fast requirements for what an application must have.
