hi Manu,
I have applied and I know a few other people in my high school who are also applying. we’ll see what happens! So far I have been accepted to VCU and VCU honors (both acceptances came separately in the mail) so now I’m waiting to hear back about an interview.

When did you get your acceptances? Because I applied to the program also and I haven’t heard back anything from the undergrad or honors program?

Yup- they came out today via email. I got an interview! They had a lot of interview dates (12! but half fall on my midterm days so…). The email said each interview day is six hours long, although I assume they mean this includes both the interview and other tours, presentations, etc. Sounds intense! Congrats to those who got it :)

Current GMED students- Any advice for us on interview days based on your experience?

Be yourself. Seriously, I met a couple of really smart kids, all interviewees are smart. But if you are artificial, you aren’t getting anywhere.

Don’t be afraid to ask any questions that day! All interview days include a half-hour student panel session where you can ask current GMED students (usually 3, of varying class levels) any questions you might have about VCU, the Honors College, or the program. The tour and lunch are also led by GMED students.

In terms of the interviews , bsmd11 couldn’t have said it any better. Be sure to talk openly and honestly about your experiences, especially those pertaining to why you want to be a doctor. Pre-interview nerves are normal, but don’t forget to relax Enjoy the day—the positive impression that I got from the tour and informational sessions was definitely a key factor in my decision to attend the program!

I interviewed for VCU GMed a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed it. Everyone seems to be very happy there. The interview was all day at two different locations but was pretty easy, no obscure questions. I met a great group of people at the interview, really hope we are classmates next year! Does anyone know when we hear back from VCU? Has anyone received a scholarship from VCU yet? Best of luck to all.

You will hear back in mid-March. I found on on March 17th last year. From what I remember, you should receive scholarship information sometime very soon. I received my scholarship before my acceptance to the GMED program, so anticipate it to come in the next few weeks.

Hello. I was wondering if anyone knows when the VCU GMED notifications are sent and do they come by mail or email? I did receive a nice scholarship to VCU Honors, but am awaiting decisions. Thanks.

They are sent on by email and I wouldn’t be surprised if you get it in the next few days (mine came around the 17th of March from what I remember).

No I have not heard anything from VCU GMED yet. The wait is terrible, I need to notify some other college’s scholarship programs very soon, but I’m still holding out for VCU. Hopefully next week we will hear from them. Did they tell anyone when they would notify us?

April 1st?? Previous years they have released March 11 to 20th but never later than that. Do you think it will be this week? The waiting is awful!
