Any idea about the # of applicants, and # accepted?

How and when did you find out?

Found out Saturday morning through email

@inevitable my D got accepted to VCU GMed. I believe 60 were interviewed and 20-21 accepted. How does this program rank on your list of acceptances or possibles?

still waiting on some schools, but pretty much at the top. what about your daughter?

My D has been accepted to both Drexel and VCU programs, any ideas to help choose one?

@inevitable we are in same boat, still waiting to hear from a couple of others but are very happy with choices so far. Probably a good idea to do day/overnights at top program choices to make final decision.

someone wanna make a facebook group? haha

Actually I do believe 60 were interviewed and they accept about 30-40 but only 20 ish choose to attend. I know that their current freshmen class only has 18 GMed students.

@Freshman13 - Both are great programs I think it’s a matter of where you’re daughter will be happiest (i.e. undergrad school, location, campus life, course load, etc.) I think VCU medical school is ranked 68th? And Drexel… well last I heard it was 80 something but I could be wrong (if medical school rank does matter but do keep in mind its based off research grants/money).

@freshman13 It definitely is a personal decision, after you have taken into account scholarship, etc. both are city schools–UG and Med. My D has placed Drexel lower than VCU on her hierarchy because she liked the VCU environment better. I am encouraging her to go visit a few of her options for the day to fully make up her mind. I know it is not always convenient to do so, but it is such an important decision for the next 4-8 years that doing your due diligence is prudent.

hey i got accepted to the program, which one of you guys are going to the program? should we make a facebook group?

Make it :]

Still deciding…stay tuned!

I am committing to VCU! Hopefully I’ll see some of you next year.

does anyone know the attrition rate for this program? like how many people are not able to meet the requirements?

probably not very many…the requirements are notably lower than a lot of other programs

nice. arrite i think im gonna commit this weekend. was a facebook group ever made for it?

i couldnt find one, so i just made one called “VCU Guaranteed Medical Class of 2017”…if any of u guys wanna join so we can get to know each other lol

Congrats guys! My D decided to do the Miami HPME but was told by Dr. Chandler that 16 students have accepted GMed already! Good luck to you all!

@cmoles, can you message me the linnk to the fb group
