I'm a senior currently, going to do engineering at Georgia Tech. I've decided not to do any AP exams this year (although I've taken 7 AP classes), and it's pretty funny how the school is looking at me like an alien- they're being pushed by the state to up AP participation even higher. My vice principal has now personally called me into his office twice to pretty much try to convince me to take the exams haha.

I just don't see it as worth it: I have instate tuition (plus Georgia HOPE) so making that I graduate early isn't a concern, I'm going to a tough school so I'd rather not jump ahead needlessly but rather pump up my GPA with college versions of classes that I've pretty much already taken like Calc I and economics, loading up on the exams won't actually save me any money (I'm going to be a full-time student whether or not I test out of Physics I), and so on.

It's amazing how intensely my school blows ******** about the AP exams into the students who don't think as much. There are literally a hundred people taking the AP Lit exam, the vast majority of whom already did AP Lang. Georgia and Georgia Tech (main public flagships) only give credit for one of them, and who the hell cares about getting a smidge of extra credit at one of the random directional schools? And yet the kids dutifully pay their $100 and bump up the school's and county's AP participation rates. Jesus.
