Anyone else having a hard time being motivated in community college?

ccprison, i agree.

Were u on campus at 11:40 AM on thurs? They had a huge protest about banning army recruiters , or anti Bush. I was like ***. How do these people find the time. I have to go to work, i have to go study, damn.

My life is pretty busy and I go to a CC. I don't work which helps, but I have dealt with many sleepless nights over the last 2 years. Right now I'm taking 21 units, which is down from the 22 I had last semester. Some of the classes are easy, others are farily difficult. The idea though that a lot of people get 4.0's in CC is false, it's shocking just how many people are struggling to pass CC classes!

i find that there are other very easy CC classes w/ teacher who simply don't give a damn, and other teachers who hate their lives and want to make urs a living hell.

I'm a history major, so as you can guess, I've done a lot of history classes. The biggest problem with this major is that the teacher really does have a huge impact. I absolutly love history, and yet I've had a few teachers at my CC who have made me hate it with a passion. On the other hand, I've had a few great teachers... One of them in paticular (who also happened to ironically be the most difficult) actually would bring me stuff from UCLA, and used to like to talk with me (during breaks in the class) about things he would watch on the history channal that I'd enjoy. So I mean it can go both ways, there are both terrible and some really great teachers at Community Colleges. It's funny since the teacher who I was talking about is rather unpopular with students simply because his class is considered to be difficult.

why would someone walk out? it doesnt make sense.. you're paying for your classes.. this is your last chances... i dont know why you'd walk out.. like a bunch of students ditching class changes the schools mind or reverses an election..?

lol I had a Sociology class last semester... Great class, good teacher, everything was going good until Bush won the election. She went into a depression and from that point on all we talked about was how Michael Moore was near godlike, and how all media extremely (and I do mean all media!!!) was very right wing. Needless to say the class wen't down hill from that point, and being a republican (as bad as it sounds, I value my grade and did not really feel like getting into it with the teacher, so I put all my feelings aside) did not make it fun to sit through.

I feel your pain. often times I put my political beliefs aside and bite my republican tongue. sometimes i feel it a bit ironic... these professors cry foul of the media and the "administration" as bullying us, when in reality.. i have had more sleepless nights because of fears of professors bias grading and their left-wing lectors than of George Bush and the patriot act. I've lived through high school and I'm sure I'll get through college... thank God i wont have to listen to left-wing political banter anywhere else.... give them their academia.... America is RED!

Depends if the school is known for grade inflation. It's a huge issue in academic circles. Most institutions are tracking other institution's grading results and policies.

patriot act does make some people feel like if they are there to express themselves, they will be arrested.

HA!Anyone who thinks the government is out to silence the public is very ignorant. More protests have been held against G.W.B than any other U.S president. I havent seen any of those protesters being silenced. Plus... if you're worried about the govt' supressing your rights and checking your internet records than maybe you're the type they should be watching--- Big brother's in my cherrios.. MAN! the 60's are over... ucb is trash and conspiracies are a thing of the past... grow up

lol, i agree w. that. I am not really into politics but I'll give up personal freedom for safety any day.
