<p>ajk dont be nervous…what’s meant to be is meant to be. if they dont give you aid, i know you still have great options. and yay i think i might study more of the political aspect now rather than jounrlaism…its jsut they offered me ***** aid im surprised. my fafsa efc was 8,000 but apparently to them it’s 30,000? i dont get it…but im not gonna “appeal” because i have a great opportuniy in GWU and I truly do beleive everything happens for a reason. and yah the waiting was gay wish i knew earlier…but hey cant complain at least i had the option of USC? But goodluck i really hope it turns out good for you and see you in the CNN newsroom a couple yrs from now haha</p>

The financial aid office may be giving you an opportunity here. In the last months values of houses in California have gone down. House value is an asset. Your family now has the opportunity of comparing quite recent house sales in your neighborhood and reevaluating that figure on your forms.</p>
<p>Since I have not seen the exact request I am just guessing here. If this is so, check with a trusted real estate broker in your area and see how much values have decreased recently. </p>

<p>I don’t have anything either, and I’m socal. I think your Oasis is updated first, with the email coming a few hours to a day later, and then the snail mail coming a few days after.</p>
<p>My son had his package posted on Oasis yesterday. No snail mail yet so maybe later this week, as we are all the way across the country.</p>

<p>TO ALL WHO HAVEN’T RECEIVED FINANCIAL AID YET:</p>
<p>When I called the financial aid office I was told that the reason why I haven’t received my package yet is because my file went to the appeals committee. I suspected this because I sent in all my documents and then a new missing document popped up on the Oasis. I think this means they needed more information to see if they could find me any more money. If you were asked to sent an extra document in the last few weeks or still haven’t heard back yet it’s possible that your file was sent to appeals. Georgia Girl was pretty much on the money when she said that they might be re-evaluating. I was also told that if you don’t receive your package a few days before May 1st you can call and you could receive some information.</p>
<p>Any ideas on whether they’re trying to find an excuse to give us more money? Or are they trying to justify giving us money?</p>
<p>hopefully it is to find an excuse. I think that my file was sent to appeals since I was asked for more information many times.</p>
<p>I think I will just stop worrying about it because its going to drive me crazy, checking oasis every hour…</p>
