Happy 2009 everybody! I was too tired to go out, so I stayed home as well...

I stayed home... I've been out of town with family for the past week, and am all partied out. Seriously... high school kids have nothing on my family when it comes to partying!

Happy New Year, and I hope everyone finished their apps on time!

Went out on New Years for the first time ever... normally go to family friends with dad and there are only little kids here... but went to a party last night/this morning... twas funner then hanging out with 6 year olds.. thats for sure

Went to a party. It was good. Now I'm home online since no one in my house stayed up.

EDIT: What's up with post order tonight? SERIOUSLY! This one is suppose to go after Beeish's.

I did!

Only because the party was here! haha.

i stayed home only because i have give the driving test tomm.

I am. Apparently new years eve is "family time"...oh well

see i don't understand. not to mock or anything, but you guys spend all your time studying to get into mit or some ****. how is that fun? i'd MUCH rather have a fulfilling life, graduate from a regular state school, and embrace mediocrity. the whole point of life is happiness - are you somehow hoping that working 70 hour weeks as a doctor or lawyer will bring happiness? get real. if you think high school and college are bad, be prepared. I don't see the point of all your ambitions. I for one am a very happy person, and guess what? that's more important than making money. much more important. I have all the tools to get into an ivy (had I been exerting the required effort since the beginning of HS, now it's too late). But it's not worth. There is no god. you only live once. So what does that mean? HAVE FUN! That's the whole freakin point of life. I'm perfectly content making 60k a year working a job I actually enjoy and getting out of school first. Because with that, you supplement the job you are passionate about with fun... which inevitably leads to happiness.

So I beg the question: What is the point?

sorry if this came off wrong. Just trying to throw my POV out there.

what if the career that makes you happy is being a doctor? I know that I wouldn't be happy doing some desk job that only earned me 60K but not because it only earned me 60K but because its not what I wanted to do.... I want to be a doctor and sure the fact that they earn alot of money is a bonus, but its not the reason I choose that career...

and who says you can't go to top tier schools and not have a social life? I was ranked in the top 2% of my state and I still managed to go out on New Years Eve... sure I could have probably gotten higher marks if I had sat at home... but I balanced things and decided it was worth getting say 90 instead of 100 if I had a social life, but its choices people make. I went out, but I worked my butt off the rest of the time.

I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion.. and this one is mine.

I did! I always enjoy spending New Years with my family. I don't mean to be a party-pooper, but I have no interest in drinking or wild partying. Getting up on January 1st hungover and groggy is not my idea of a Happy New Year.

i wish i made 60k a year
