Anyone else taking AICE classes?

My school had decided overnight to change all of it's classes to AICE -.- I'm not happy with it, but does anyone else like them? I've had one class before, and I hated it. I'm also wondering how this is going to affect my transcript, I don't know how colleges look upon AICE...

Nobody in my school can choose classes :/:(.

Yes, I am in my schools Cambridge AICE program. AICE to colleges is the Equivalent to IB/AP classes. and is ARGUABLY harder. It really depends on your teacher.

I’m taking AICE General Paper, AICE European History and AICE Psychology this year
:)

AICE isn’t that well known outside of Florida, where I go to school, so you might have trouble getting college credit for your AICE classes, but as far as I know they’re not looked negatively at. I have two seniors who both took multiple AICE classes and got into Harvard. The classes aren’t that hard, freshman year I took AICE General Paper and AICE Thinking Skills and also opted to take the exam for AICE math. Sophomore year I took AICE Sociology and AICE English Language and also opted to take the exam for AICE Bio. You only need to pass 6 AICE exams (with or without taking the actual classes) to get an AICE diploma. Also, it’s relatively easy to pass the exams, you only need like 40% correct to get an E ( the lowest passing score) Part of the incentive for schools to offer AICE classes is that a lot of students not qualified to take APs can take easy AICE classes and pass to make the school look better and receive more funding, since they’re considered college level classes. The difficulty of AICE classes varies widely, something like AICE Thinking Skills is just general problem solving and argumentative writing, but AICE Chemistry is like omg rip your hair out organic chem. Also, there are no make ups for AICE exams unless you have to attend an international competition or a family member died, and since there are usually multiple papers to one exam, it makes May an extra tedious month. This year I’m only taking AICE Spanish and the rest of my classes will be AP.

Don’t know if this thread is still worth posting on. I took A Level Thinking Skills and A Level Psychology in my sophomore year and received and A* and A on the exams respectively.
Grades of A* and A are more distinguishing than 5’s on AP exams, because they demonstrate a greater degree of mastery.
I am currently taking AS Math, AS Chem, AS General Paper, AS English, and AS US History. I am also taking AP Calc AB. General Paper and English are a joke. AICE chem takes a crap on every other chemistry course offered to high school students. The structure of the AS/A Level Psychology syllabus is superb and infinitely more rigorous than its AP counterpart. While the material in AP Calc is “more advanced” than AS level math, the exam is definitely easier. Furthermore, the opportunity to continue to A level math is invaluable.
And all it takes is performance on SAT subject tests to seriously demonstrate the quality of the program

Taking Aice Psychology (The studies: milgram, zimbardo , bandura etc) Aice general paper and Aice Modern European History this year and Aice Marine , Aice US History , Aice Thinking skills, Aice photography , Aice Math 1 , Aice English Lang next year
