Anyone from RCC (Riverside Community College) that can verify something for me?

Does anyone know if Riverside City College, Moreno Valley College, and Norco College all count as the same school or all seperate schools? They all share the Riverside Community College name and the same credentials, but I want to know if they are technicially the same school or different schools. I'm asking because I live in Corona and attend RCC Norco, but the physic's mechanics course I need is only offered at Riverside City College which would require me to commute like 30 minutes every night back and forth. I put on my application that the pre-req wasn't offered at my school, in the additional comments section, but if its technically the same school, wouldn't my best option be to take the course anyway to not get in trouble? Sorry, its a weird question but its been bugging me.

Thanks!
-Becca

I’m going to say your good. Under assist.org each of RCC’s colleges are listed seperately. Therefore, I’m going to assume that they are considered different CC’s by the UC’s.

Oh, thanks a bunch! The counselors here at Norco were no help at all, and since the retention rate here is like a whooping 76% or something like that, they don’t get to help transferees too often. When I told him about my situtation, he literally said " Physics? Why is a prutty young thing like yourself want to take physics for again?" I just facepalmed, thanked him and left. Sigh… anyone from Norco knows that its like 95% hillbilly farmers. God, I can’t wait to get outta here.

Yea, I know what your talking about. I transferred out of Mt San Jacinto. Dont worry, you’ll be in a better place soon.

list them as separate schools… i worked in the student services office at the riverside campus this past semester  its the same district but they are all accredited individually :)

but also they do check to see where the course would be available and if they see that its in the same district they will knock u for it… especially if its a science course cuz those majors are so impacted…

I live in Eastvale and mainly go to Norco College. For TAG, I said that I planned to take Astronomy, which isn’t offered at Norco. I got an email from Davis later asking where I planned to take it, so I had to explain that we can register across the district and that Riverside offers it.

Basically, it looks like UC admissions will check through ASSIST which classes are offered at Norco but they aren’t aware of which colleges are in the same district.

It seems like counseling is horrible in all community colleges. If you have to go back, I recommend Nick Franco!

ETA: It’s sort of cool to have people going to the same college on here. :)

@Nadiava
So, would you suggest I take the class in the spring at Riverside City Campus? Just to be safe?

@Bostoncrmpie Awesome! I’ll request an appointment with him tommorow. Thanks.

That’s cool that you go to Norco too. I love the new renovations they did to Norco, but they seriously need to fix the traffic entering the school! just terrible.

Yes!! Just yes on fixing the traffic! The first day of fall, it took 20 minutes just to get from JFK to the West End Quad. Half the class was late because of it!

don’t forget the 20-25 mins waiting to turn onto 3rd street! Geez, whoever thought up putting two schools( JFK and RCC) on the same cul-de-sac street needs to be shot. Oh and my favorite is how across the street from the school is a frickin’ farm.

up until the first year the uc’s lumped up the rcc colleges as one college they know you have other options… also last year when i applied i called ucla cuz i needed an extra poly sci class that wasnt offered at ne of the 3 campuses so they told me to do my best to get into the section they had at sbvcc becuase it was still in my area… take the class in the spring… just to be safe

Reping the (951)s! How i miss those days at the RCC library. It’s cool to see other students doing well from rcc.
PS: Norco traffic has always been bad. I doubt they will fix it anytime soon.

I have a question…does the Riverside community college offer longer semesters? because Moreno Valley is making it impossible and Im really worried. The lady told me it can take up to over 4 years just to transfer??? and people are saying it normally takes two…then after you transfer thats another four?

^ You might want to meet with another counselor.

I am from RCC ! :)

Why’s a pretty little thing like you physics ?
