They said I would be better fit in Poly and they asked if I wanted to apply there. Is there any way I can get into the LSP instead? I really don't understand how I would be good in Poly. I hate math and science.

Yeah they told me that as well.
Did you submit your application release form?

Yeah, I did. It’s not exactly what I wanted, but I read that you can still take some classes at CAS. Plus, Poly is supposed to be fully consolidated with NYU by 2013.

But did you get an email back from Poly? I submitted the release but never got a confirmation email or anything. And do you know anything about the interview? I will have to do the over the phone option because I live like eight hours away.

anyone else… bump?

I can’t find anyone else who got asked to do this…

And they still haven’t emailed me back or contacted me at all.

I think last year, a lot of kids were asked to switch, but they were interested in computer majors – you didnt say that did you?

Nah, I said I was interested in Biology.

I haven’t heard anything back from them yet. I’m just wondering if I’m even accepted or not. And if so, do they put me in the major they think is equivalent to Biology. On their website they said they have biomolecular engineering. I want to choose my own major there. If the financial aid is good, I may go there.

Hi. Poly offers two majors you may be interested in: Biomolecular Science and Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering.

Biomolecular Science (BMS) is a biology-based major. Every BMS major has to decide on a concentration they wish to do. There are three concentrations to choose from: Chemistry, Biomedical, and Biotechnology. There are a lot of interesting classes to choose from and this major is quite flexible.

Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering (CBE) is your traditional chemical engineering curriculum with biological applications and with required biology and biochemistry courses. The curriculum is very rigid because of all the required classes. The faculty is engaged in a lot of biomolecular engineering projects and there are opportunities to get into research with these professors.

In fact, there is summer research undergrad program where professors and students work on projects or do research in all the engineering fields (electrical, chemical and biomolecular, civil, mechanical, computer), and also computer science, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, technology management, and digital media. It is very competitive (students receive generous stipends) and is open to not only Poly students, but also students from CAS doing the 3+2 program and Abu Dhabi students.

By the way, Poly is known to give generous financial aid.

Thanks for the info!

How hard is to be accepted into poly? Is it to be rejected even if CAS asked me to forward my application?

Also, does anyone know anything about the interview? I can never get anyone at NYU to email me back. I’m still waitin on a reply from about three weeks ago.

yeah i got the same thing

Has anyone heard from Poly?
