I saw the Future Bearcats post on this board and wanted to do the same for Taft. So yeah, just introduce yourself, guy/girl, which year going into, sports, etc. :)
So Imma do it first,
I'm from Vietnam, girl, gonna be a freshman. I love art, theatre & volleyball so definitely gonna do them in Taft.

Yep, I’m going to Taft and I’m a girl and will be an sophomore in the fall. I play volleyball too and would like to do crew as well for the first time. I’m also in band :)

Hi. Im going there next fall. Ill be a freshman hockey player that also plays the piano. Im from the U.S. and im a boy. ill probably play soccer and lacrosse too.

@ everbladeshockey: oooohh sounds awesome, I want to try lacrosse too I also play the piano but paused for a while now. How long have you been playing it? :)

@ cookbookmom: I’m excited as well, now I’m waiting to receive the package because it’s a late acceptance. Did your D apply to any other school?

We’ll be in SYA so we won’t see you for a year - but congratulations. You are going to absolutely love being a part of that community. I called yesterday to talk to the registrar (who I’ve never met) and we immediately started talking about my D’s new adventure, learning the language, who else was going, etc.

My husband got the same vibe from them when he and my daughter were investigating schools to put on her list. He called the school for information and the woman who answered chatted him up while she walked him through the application procedure. Being on campus is exactly the same way. Strict on academics (lots of work) but very family-like the rest of the time.

Congratulations to all! You will love it! The community is great and the academics challenging. My daughter loves it so much she would rather stay on campus than come home!

Read carefully - there will be a pop quiz at the end of this message

First - they put on two major plays each year and a lot of smaller ones. They also send out press releases about them. For the fall, Peter Pan was performed and also taken on the road (complete with special effects). My daughter tells a hilarious story about visiting a local school and there was a fire drill. The Taft crew stayed in “Pirate” character and improvised by helping to direct the children to exits.

There is a main theater and a black-box theater. The teachers are even cajoled into taking parts in the play. It’s a school wide activity that is well received. Whhen I was visiting on Parents weekend the halls were packed (by students). You won’t be lacking for activities if theater is your thing. And there is a class “Music of the Stage” that takes the students to Broadway plays as part of their research.

And they have a few experts on hand to name a few (The director didn’t post his bio but he runs the video editing and film classes talked about here0:

@putnamehere
what other choices did you have? and besides, isnt it too late, i thought that you were supposed to have documents turned in by April 10th, no?
