If so, I’ll see you there! I’m excited but kind of nervous. Will we have to make our way around campus on our own? Because if we do I’m sure I will get lost the first day. Also what documents should we bring with us? Thanks!
Not a fellow orientation person, but you will be led around the first day, and thrown to the wolves for the second/third day ;)). I was late to two meetings last year because I was dumb & didn’t look up where my stuff was beforehand. But it’s not a problem, everyone on campus is more than willing to point out directions (maybe even me, my job takes me wandering campus for about an hour on Mondays & Wednesdays).
As for documents, you should have already submitted your meningitis, but if you haven’t, definitely submit that. I made a friend last year who couldn’t register because she hadn’t submitted hers yet. Also might want to bring copies of AP/dual credit for advising purposes, but that’s not necessary if they have it on file.
Good luck, and you’re going to have a great time being a Longhorn!
There’s a UT app that has GPS. Use that and you won’t get lost. Search the App Store for UT Orientation.
A list of necessary documents.

@SlimShadyLady , @PokeyJoe Thank you two for the information! I’m both nervous and excited for orientation!
You’re welcome! In addition to registration, take advantage of all the opportunities they set up to meet other Longhorns. You’re in for a great time!
Should I skip my trip from june 13th - july 7th so I can attend the early orientation? Or should I just attend the late orientation? I’m just concerned because I don’t know if people will have a head start on registering for classes because they will go to a earlier orientation, thus making limited space for good classes. Btw i’m a transfer student
@jimbob22 if you go to a later session, you’ll get to register earlier in the spring, so don’t skip your trip for that. Definitely not worth it
@SlimShadyLady Making a 4.0 is more important to me. With that being said, I need the best classes I can take in order to have a larger chance on making a higher GPA. I need good classes in the fall. It’s a bit of a dilemma.
There’s a system of limited registration spots per orientation. Earlier orientations don’t necessarily have an advantage of getting into a course.
On a side note, I’m currently working part time on campus, so if anyone wants to chat with a UT student… feel free to contact me by a CC message or something.
