My second senior got in yesterday 11/12, applied 10/24. Their twin got in earlier in October. One will attempt to petition for direct admit Kelley, one will attempt standard admit, if they decide to commit to IU. Interesting situation, trying to figure out what’s best for each kid.
Does anyone know if they release decisions once a week or daily? My D applied 10/27. Just curious…
Decisions seem to be once a week on Mondays
@pamela2128 Thank you! Now I can stop asking her to check daily!
My son’s portal was updated Tuesday evening.
Does anyone know when we find out how much Money Indiana gives a student once accepted? does it come in the mail?
My son applied 9/29, was accepted 10/23 (a Wednesday). He was given only $6k per year - it was listed in the letter that came in the crimson envelope 10 days after he received the acceptance email. The invitation for the selective scholarship came 4 days after the acceptance email. He is a direct admit to College of Arts and Sciences. 30ACT, uw 3.9 with several AP courses and dual enrollment at a local university for spanish. We are OOS so the only way this will be possible is with a good scholarship. Does anyone know when selective scholarship awards are announced, or how much they usually give?
For standard admission, it should say “University Division Pre-Business” right? So what would it say if it was direct admission instead? (I got my IU acceptance email on Thursday, waiting on Kelley now. I won’t be a direct admit but I’m still wondering)
@srinvan It will say “Business Undergraduate” if you are direct admit. I happen to have one of each in my household, so I’m familiar with both labels.
@Momofmanytoo Would the status say “Business Undergraduate” before or after the 4-6 weeks it takes for direct admits to find out they got in? Like, would it say “University Division Pre-Business” until you get into Kelley?
Hello,
I was wondering if you remembered/knew what time your acceptance was online. Thank you so much
@srinvan I’m actually not sure how it is input initially. I want to say that the differences were there from the beginning, before acceptance was shown. But I’m not positive.
Max scholarship now is deans for OOS which caps at 11k…Hutton also gives scholarships which i think max out at 3-4K. I got the 11k OOS, 4.25 GPA and 35 ACT
@ie2020. MyOOS son got in to Kelley with similar stats 4.3 gpa/30 Act. He was awarded the same Deans scholarship for $6000 and invited to apply to the URM Hudson and Holland scholarship via the SSA. We were hoping to be in the higher range of the Deans in order to make IU somewhat of a financially feasible option. After looking into it the SSA application, he basically lost interest considering the amount of work required and knowing the end results would not be there. It is disappointing but not surprising. Probably moving on from IU this early on in this process but happy to know he was able to get into Kelley which is an achievement by itself.
Were all your scholarships in the IU crimson packet? Were they seperate from the congratulations letter, or were they on there?
The Deans scholarship comes with the Crimson Envelope. The SSA invitation comes via email.
Does anybody know if there is a certain time that a decision is posted online (like morning or evening)? Thanks
@1917souci The selective application was a lot of work! My son completed and submitted it only because he really wants IU to be a possibility, but I have doubts that it will make much a difference. Good luck!
@DouglasMH My son received his around 5PM on a Wednesday.
@ie2020… Good luck to you as well. According to the SSA invitation, he qualifies for the Hudson and Holland program which would be a wonderful perk and a very nice scholarship. But being that the initial award was not high as what he was hoping for, IU would probably not be as affordable as what he was hoping and the amount of time required would probably not yield the desired result.
