@ie2020 Thank you so much!
Does anyone know how and when you hear about admission to the Hutton Honors program? According to the website, my sonās GPA and ACT score qualify him for the program, however, he has not heard anything yet. He is a Kelley direct admit, received $11k Deans scholarship and was invited to apply for the SSA.
My son applied to Indiana on 10/27/19 early action. Should he be hearing from them soon? It looks like most people are hearing back in less than a month.
@Amy11mateo - my D applied on 10/27 too and hasnāt heard yet either.
gratefulmama and amy11mateo - my sonās app was received and complete since 10/12 and he hasnāt heard yet either. And heās likely a direct admit to Kelley so Iām not sure why itās taking so long. Hopefully they will all hear very soon.
I read on one of your posts- is your daughter FB? My daughter use to go to a school with FB but is now in IB. You are one of the first people I have seen with FB. Just curious as I have a friend with a daughter in FB - do you think these colleges understand the rigor of the FB which I believe is much more difficult than IB or AP
@Louisebanff915 Iām not sure if your question was directed at me but my daughter is taking the FB-OIB. (My oldest, who graduated in ā17 took the FB without the OIB component.) My oldest daughter did not seem to have any problems with schools recognizing the FB. I think the IB and APs can be equally rigorous, depending on what class choices are made. All excellent programs. What state are you in? Not many FB kids in the US.
Thanks, Iām just getting anxious and it would be nice if he had one acceptance in hand. I will post when he gets contacted.
Accepted! I applied 10/27
Question: My stats are way above the direct admit requirements for SPEA, but the portal still says University Div. Does that mean Iām not admitted or will they just notify me later?
@klw2020 Did you find out today? If so, did you get an email or check your portal?
Found out today. I checked my portal, no email yet
Thank you!
So of course just a few hours after I posted that my son hadnāt heard from IU, he checked his portal and he is accepted. However, it says āUniversity Div Pre-Businessā even though he indicated a finance major and I believe he meets the direct admit criteria (>1500 SAT and >3.8 unweighted, >4.7 weighted GPA). He hasnāt even received an email confirming his acceptance yet, so hopefully he will get that in the next day or so.
My question for those who were direct admit to Kelley, did the initial acceptance on the portal indicate āUniversity Div Pre-Businessā, and later change to Direct Admit or Kelley or whatever? Or did it indicate Kelley/Direct Admit from the very beginning?
@beach4life- A couple weeks after my sonās acceptance to IU, he received an email/letter that he was directly admitted to Kelley. A week or so after that, his portal changed from Div Pre-Business to Businessā¦
D20 accepted to IU (pre-business) today. Should be notified DA to Kelley in a few weeks.

@MB2020 someone told me around 5:00 PM. Not sure if this is true or if it applies always.
My son submitted his application on 10/31/19 so hopefully we will hear soon.

Iām proud of everyone for getting in. It sounds like most people found out after 5pm. Iāll tell him to keep checking portal.
