Anyone had an international roommate?

My freshman year roommate was a Korean student from am international School in Ethiopia. We got along great and room ed together the next year and will be rooming again with another guy this year. Completely normal guy that that just didn’t know some US stuff here and there.

I would say your biggest worry is getting some Chinese student that barely passed their English language test and will just hang out with other Chinese students and speak Chinese with them…

I think you will find that Chinese students, as well as other students of the non spoiled non Western variety, firstly don’t bring much clothes with them in the one free suitcase they get on their flight from Guangzhou, and are also reluctant to pick dirty ■■■ off the floor the morning after and put it on to go to class. Which is why they wash their clothes after they wear them.

I had an American roommate who lived 2 hours away and kept all her dirty clothes in huge bags which she kept in our (shared) closet. She then drove them home for her mom to wash over Christmas and thanksgiving.

And I wash my clothes by hand too, not cos I’m used to doing so in my cold mountain stream back home or wevs, but cos dirty sports bras are really, REALLY gross.

B.I.T.C.H please, I am going to be the international student. How about that huh?
