I just need them to give me like an extra 5k per year to make me be able to afford to attend. Is it possible to bargain with them? Williams and Amherst have EFCs that are like 10k/year lower than cornell but I'm not sure if this can help me get Cornell to give me a better deal.

they do match with other ivies stanford duka and mit. i think amherst and williams are comparable schools, just lacs. I would def try showing them ur other offers.

But remember what you get one year, you may not get another…

^ Really? My finaid followed the tuition increases so that my family contribution remained about the same all four years (even through the aftermath of the 08-09 market). There were no major changes in my family situation.

No bargaining at all. Cornell should be known as the “poor” ivy

Got 11k more from rice and Vanderbilt and Cornell didn’t even consider that b/c they only match schools better than them
