Has anyone ever graduated from MIT with a 4.0? If so, is he/she famous enough to look up and find information on that person?

Plenty of people graduate with a 4.0. At MIT, a 4.0 is a B average.

Of course, you probably mean a 5.0, an A average. I know two people among my friends who graduated with 5.0s – they’re rare, but not so rare. Probably a few people graduate with 5.0s in every class.

I thought straight As was a 4.0, but I was wrong. That’s amazing. I apologize for the dyslexic title of this thread. They’re so smart.

At most schools, a 4.0 is an A average. MIT is weird. :)

I don’t know anyone who’s graduated with a 5.0, but that’s mostly because I wasn’t really close enough to any of last year’s senior class to know their GPA. I do, however, know a handful of juniors and seniors who have 5.0s currently, and who I could easily see keeping that average until they graduate. Honestly, once you get the hang of MIT, it’s not that hard to do fairly well.

Yes, there are 5.0-ers famous enough to be researched, though that’s hardly ever their claim the fame. :P
