Anyone hear yes or no regarding their appeal to SDSU?

Still no word for me. I hope that doesn’t mean bad news :frowning: @xxMightyMousexx‌ I was wondering if you can tell my why were denied before?

Nothing for me either. Hopedully this week. I want to know… But at least there still hope right now. Once I get an answer, that’s that, you know?

I must assume that the faculty at this campus drinks more than the student body because their repeated offense of missing their own deadlines is unfounded.

I submitted my application only two weeks after it opened, followed through with the supplemental application (that got moved a month back from the date that was being reported on their website), submitted the verification of intent to complete IGETC + AA-T, and patiently awaited to hear the decision (which came over a month later than standard apps regardless that AA-T applications were supposed to get priority looks).

After receiving a denial of admission decision, I chose to follow through with an appeal. I had already crafted my appeal letter in case this were to happen, had it reviewed, submitted my official transcripts as per the appeal instructions, and submitted the appeal. This was almost two months ago.

In the mean time, I paid and accepted admission to CSULB, had to deposit $400 to live in the dorms, and made appointments to meet for class registration. I had to do all of this because of SDSU’s obviously incompetent front office. It’s almost the end of the month of June and no one has received their appeal decisions. I wish I didn’t have so many friends, or siblings living on the campus currently because I’d have given up on the school long ago.

I call weekly and check the status of RedPortal to see if there is any new information (which there is none). The front office of SDSU is really more on par with the DMV, IRS and other BS government offices than any other school I’ve had to deal with.

Nothing yet.

You chose to appeal, so having to pay fees for another school was completely your decision. Yes, it is annoying but that’s a part of the appeal process if you want to ensure you are enrolled somewhere for fall if the appeal doesn’t work out in your favor. SDSU says that we will be notified in June so they still have a bit of time. If they don’t follow through with that promise, then you are welcome to complain. They have a lot of appeals to go through. The fact that it’s taking time means that they are actually reevaluating applications and not just automatically denying our appeals.

originally the appeal page at sdsu used to say early to mid June, it was changed a few weeks ago

Did any one else notice that? I hope that doesn’t keep happening! :-/

It used to say (and I was told on the phone) between May 1st and June 1st. She said each appeal is reviewed by each member of board and then sent to the director for final decision. I sent mine in April 14, it recorded in their system two days later. When I called last, admissions office had no word from the board about when decisions would be sent out…

Just spoke with the admissions office. The appeal process has been moved back to “early July”.

I called them too, just now, and the girl said ‘by mid July’.

That’s frustrating, but we’ll still find out soon.

My husband received his letter yesterday and his appeal was denied. His stats are:

Major: Electrical Engineering
CC: Southwestern
GPA: 3.7
Prereqs completed: No

He did his first year while in the Navy on a ship so wasn’t able to complete all the pre-reqs and used that as his “extenuating circumstance.” They denied appeal based on not having all the prereqs (he’s missing I think 4 or 5) and told him to take them and apply again next year. We knew it was a long shot, but thought it would be worth the effort of at least trying.

Also, Admissions told him they already sent out the first batch of letters for appeals and the rest would be going out by mid July.

I just got an email that they need proof that I’m a military dependent by July 23rd. It wasn’t part of my reason for appealing so I didn’t include it in my package. Did anyone else get emails today?

I got an email asking for me to send a more updated version of my transcript. But they told me by tomorrow.

You guys getting emailed is definitely a good sign. I can’t imagine them turning ur appeal down if you provide them with the information they want.

Hey guys! I got an email at 1:40am on monday night that I have been admitted! Good luck everyone!

I’m so confused. Are we finding out through email or are they sending us a letter. I’ve heard both on this

They are NOT notifying by email, that person is trolling. They emailed my husband back in May asking for his updated Spring transcript with Spring grades (maintained his gpa) and something else, and his appeal was still denied. I think it just means they are in the final step of processing your appeal.

Ok thank you @sanchezcv. I appreciate that. Still waiting to hear back. Haven’t heard through email or anything so I was getting worried when I heard everyone say they got emails

@tommac Trust me I’m not trolling. I did get an email first however, it says I will receive a letter as well with a welcome packet in the mail. There is no way of posting the screen shot I took of the email otherwise I would so you would know the validity of my claim, but this site doesn’t allow it. Right after I got the email I checked webportal and my status was changed there as well so just keep checking on that if you feel less comfortable about the email. THEY ARE EMAILING. I THINK IF YOU DON’T KNOW YOU SHOULDN’T ACT LIKE YOU DO and confuse everyone. Good luck TomMac33!!! Don’t give up hope! P.s If you want me to send the screen shot to your email if you leave it I will
